We are a bunch of mad people who like to walk about 20 miles on a Saturday or Sunday in all seasons. On a typical walk (or "stroll")
we will stop at a pub for lunch with possibly a further break for tea. Our walks are normally about every fortnight (see programme
on Strolls page). Our groups vary in number but are seldom large so accommodation in pubs and tea places is usually feasible.
Despite
the name of the Surrey Walking Club we do not walk just in Surrey. Anywhere that provides us with 20 miles of countryside accessible
from London will be used. Popular destinations include Hampshire, Kent and the Chilterns. Surrey Walking Club Strollers also arrange
weekends away. These have proved to be popular with Yorkshire, Suffolk and Dorset having been recently visited. All Surrey Walking
Club Strolls are accessible by public transport and normally start and finish at railway stations.
